本研究主要目的在於分析家族企業之研發承諾行為是否有助於提升營運績效,並探討外部董事與董事席次股權偏離對於家族企業追求創新的影響,以及對三者之間的關係進行討論。本研究以台灣電子業中的250家家族企業為研究對象,研究期間為2003~2007年。實證結果發現:一、家族企業之研發承諾對於企業營運績效有正面影響;二、外部董事對於家族企業之研發承諾與營運績效有正面調節效果;三、董事席次股權偏離對於家族企業之研發承諾與營運績效間有負面調節效果;四、董事席次股權偏離會降低外部董事的正面調節效果。

英文摘要

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between R&D commitment and Taiwanese family firm performance considering the moderation of outside directors as well as the deviation between ownership and control. We identified 250 Taiwanese listed electronic firms during 2003-2007 as research targets. The results showed that family firms’ R&D commitment is positively related to firm performance. The ratio of outside directors and the deviation between ownership and control positively and negatively moderate the relationship between family firms’ R&D commitment and firm performance respectively. In addition, the deviation between ownership and control reduces the positive contribution of outside directors.
