How Cultural Industry Clusters Could Promote the Process of Revitalization of Depleted Communities：From the Perspective of Actor-Network Theory
This study investigates the process of revitalization of depleted communities, exploring how the formation of cultural industry clusters could promote such process. The researchers took the perspective of actor-network theory to analyze the experience of developing Anping Sword Lion cultural industry clusters in Tainan in order to include the multiple actants both of human actant and non-human actant. We thus conclude the followings findings: 1. the nature of the cultural industry cluster is a new type of industrial cluster, which takes cultural asset as the capital, community network as the field; 2. the agency showed by cultural asset becomes the key element which affects the benefit of cultural industry cluster in promoting the revitalization of depleted communities; 3. the mechanism of such revitalization of depleted communities promoted by cultural industry cluster is formed by the accomplishment of cultural translation of all actors. Finally, it seems that the success of such process is determined by whether the composition of marco-actor network can complete through the mechanism of cultural translation.
