本文探討宗教團體設立醫療財團法人與非宗教團體設立醫療財團法人，在從事社區公益活動、免費醫療支出與教育研究支出的行為是否有差異。
本文採用臺灣36個醫療財團法人在2002至2004年的資料進行迴歸分析，實證結果指出，宗教團體設立的醫療財團法人在免費醫療支出項目顯著高於非宗教團體所設立之醫療財團法人，但兩者在社區公益活動支出與教育研究支出上沒有顯著的差異。研究結果指出，宗教團體設立的醫療財團法人較重視醫療貧窮者的慈善醫療。
