詮釋性個案研究雖已被應用於資訊與組織管理研究領域之中,但此一研究方法在臺灣尚屬起步階段,相關應用仍未普及。探究其未能被廣為應用的原因,可能在於資料收集的田野工作、複雜的資料分析與理論辯證的過程裡,很難成文化地記錄、傳播與學習或教授所致。因此,為了彌補詮釋性個案研究方法難以擴散的缺憾,本文以新加坡、臺灣衛星派遣車隊的跨國科技採納研究為例,探討詮釋性個案研究如何進行資料收集工作與辯證分析。為了達成研究目的,本文著眼於將此一長達五年的跨國計程車田野研究經驗,系統化地彙整成一套研究方法工作實務,並介紹如何鑑賞質化研究作品。藉由此種強調情境相依勝於命題推導式的詮釋性個案研究,本文希望能提供一些有價值的研究方法參考,讓研究者能解構真實組織現象背後的深層原因,透過詮釋性個案研究來見所未見。

英文摘要

The interpretative case study has become one of the most important qualitative research methods in the management study field. However, very few studies in Taiwan have yet applied this methodology in current organizational and general management research. The reasons such methodology of interpretative case study has not yet been utilized widely were probably because of the tedious fieldwork for data collection, complex data analysis process and theoretical reasoning, and the difficulty of knowledge documentation and learning. By anchoring on a longitudinal case study on cross border technology adoption in the taxi industries of Singapore and Taipei, this paper addresses philosophical and theoretical issues concerning the nature of interpretative case studies, and demonstrates methodological tools which facilitates fieldwork and analyzes data in the interpretative case research. The study aims to provide a useful reference point for researchers who wish to adopt interpretative case studies, and more generally, to encourage thorough work on the conceptualization and execution of case studies in order to make the invisible visible.
